Nashulai Maasai Conservancy

Social Media and Communications Specialist
at Nashulai Maasai Conservancy
Nashulai Maasai Conservancy is one of the first Indigenous-owned and -run conservancies in Kenya Africa, representing a bold and enlightened new conservation model. I was a member of the Nashulai Maasai Conservancy's remote communications team. Effectively managing their social media, SEO and partnership strategies to successfully boost donations & online engagement.
Creating graphics for web, presentation decks, social media, and video editing for Nashulai like this text based video seen above. As well as campaign strategies for online fundraising efforts and a guest appearance on the UN Biodiversity Instagram page.
Poster Design Educating local Maasai community of Nashulai to wash their hands, wear a mask and practice social distancing during the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020.
During 2020, many were devastated by the virus, however the small community of Nashulai began to raise money and through grant funding they were able to win the UNDP Equator Prize - awarding excellence and a $10,000 grant to only 10 organizations worldwide. This was an exciting time for Nashulai, bringing the community together after a very hard year.
Served as a guest host on the @UNBiodiversity Instagram Account (304 K followers) alongside NGO Nashulai Maasai Conservancy and Travel Partner Nyaanum Virtual Travel. And communicated with the UNDP marketing team to create a digital marketing campaign for Nashulai’s Equator Prize win.
Immersed in the vibrant Maasai community, my role involved crafting compelling narratives, capturing mesmerizing visuals, and sharing authentic stories that resonate with audiences worldwide. By harnessing the power of social media platforms, we've not only showcased the breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife of Nashulai but also illuminated the unique way of life and rich traditions of the Maasai people.
Working with Nashulai I was able to share their story by creating social media campaigns that contributed to donations of $10,000+ through advertisments and online fundraising campaigns. This helped raise enough money to feed 10,000+ people in the Maasai Mara & Tanzania during Covid-19.
I was able to share their work educating youth on women's empowerment and highlighting projects like the Sekenani River Restoration Program.
A gallery of some of the social media posts created for Nashulai. Highlighting their mission to Conserve wildlife - Preserve their Maasai culture - & Educate through sustainability projects and initiatives in the Maasai Mara.
